I don't like the rocking up and down under my feet. I am certain that I will end up in the water. I don't even like the water in the bathtub to be too far above my waist. I flew helicopters for teh Army, and always preferred being low-level than at altitude. Something about flying close to the earth is comforting. There's a ferry that runs from the Outer Banks of NC back to the mainland that is briefly out of sight of land (mostly due to the low-lying nature of said land) during its transit. This was seen as a golden opportunity to hang out in the car, despite the fact that the water is so shallow we could probably walk to shore if the ferry had a problem. It doesn't have to make sense to feel real.
