I disagree. I think the only reason why he had to give such a \heartfelt\ speech is because he was caught red handed. We wouldn’t have known a thing if he wouldn’t have been caught… and now, the extortion may not even be true. It seems like most men are \heartfelt\ and \sorry\ when they are caught holding their you know what in their hand.

But don’t you think it’s pretty messed up that he slept with his female staffers? I know they’re consensual adults and I know that this sort of thing happens all the time, but it seems like a massive abuse of power.

thanks for supporting dave in your blog .. im truly pissed at all of the media pot shots at him comparing him to ‘cheating’ politicians and religious ‘leaders’ .. read one article in the LA times this morning stating he ‘cheated on his wife’ yet we don’t know if he was actually married to his longtime girlfriend at the time … neither do we know the nature of their relationship arrangement .. nor should we .. it’s none of anyone’s business .. i hope they really stick it to the creep that did this to him .. and that dave can carry on .. after-all he’s number one in the ratings … and that’s saying something.

Can’t agree more. The way he dealt with the whole situation was the best anyone could deal with.
I mean, if I were Letterman, why wouldn’t I sleep around?!
And what he does in his sex life doesn’t affect his profession or is that anyone’s business!
And whoever did this to him has to be a freaking dumbass! What does Letterman has to lose even if he makes all this public?!

I totally agree. Actually, I almost felt badly that the audience was laughing and clapping while he told this story that was obviously painful for him.

Yes Yes Yes. The truth shall set you free. I felt that way even as I was watching Dave tell his viewers like it is. People take more offence when others do not admit to the truth. Now Dave should only concern himself with his family, and making ammends there.

I agree 100%! Afterall, the only thing illegal in this situation is the fact that this jackass tried to extort money out of Letterman. Two consensual adults having sex is not against the law in the United States…
